The A419 was closed after a crash this morning
A SERIOUS crash has closed the A419 in both directions "for some hours".
A post from Swindon Police on social media said: "Drivers are advised to avoid the A419 in Swindon following a serious road traffic accident.
"Closures are in place from the Honda roundabout northbound and motorists are advised to avoid the area or face significant delays.
UPDATE: Five vehicles involved in serious A419 crash
"Motorists are advised to avoid the area or face significant delays.
"The road is expected to be closed for some hours."
As a result of the incident traffic is now queuing from A4311 Cricklade Road to A361.
UPDATE: The A419 northbound remains closed. The southbound reopened around 10.30am
