No trains were able to run for much of Thursday, Friday and Saturday, but some services did resume on Sunday.

There were also some diversions with services running via Gloucester adding an hour to people’s journeys.

However, after pumping out gallons of water, the line has now reopened to traffic as normal.

According to the live train tracker on National Rail enquiries, trains were calling at Swindon and Bristol Parkway as normal.

A spokesperson for Great Western Railway, said: “Following heavy rain flooding the railway between Swindon and Bristol Parkway, all lines are open.”
