Members of the public have been advised by GWR to not travel on a Wiltshire train line as Storm Henk hits county.

GWR took to Twitter and warned  travellers not to take the train between Westbury and Weymouth/Portsmouth Harbour.

This is because high winds are expected to disrupt these trains until the end of the day.

This comes as Storm Henk flooded parts of Swindon and causes major delays to trains throughout Tuesday, January 2.

The train line that GWR have advised to not use affects those attempting to travel from both Warminster and Salisbury.

In the Tweet, advise was also given for those wanting to travel between Swindon and Bristol Parkway. Journeys will be delayed by approximately 40 minutes.

Heavy rain has flooded the railway track between the two stations and caused for all lines to be closed.

There are currently multiple delays and cancellations to trains going through Westbury.

Trains that have been cancelled:

  • 20.05 to Portsmouth Harbour
  • 20.06 to Cheltenham Spa
  • 21.06 to Portsmouth Harbour
  • 21.33 to Salisbury

Trains that have been delayed:

  • 18.59 to London Paddington delayed until 20.13
  • 19.12 to Cardiff Central
  • 19.33 to Exeter St Davids delayed until 19.49
  • 19.45 to Frome
  • 19.59 to Exeter St Davids delayed until 20.25
